Singing Sands 2025

Singing Sands Festival

A vibrant, intimate, and eclectic festival where you will arrive as tourists, but return as part of the heritage

Two days. A Thousand Memories.

The Singing Sands Festival unfolds as a rare, unfiltered encounter with Rajasthani culture. Patronized by royalty and built by merchants, The Desert Resort in Shekhawati transforms into a living stage where history, music, and tradition come alive.

This is no ordinary festival—it’s an intimate retreat. Folk rhythms echo through frescoed courtyards. Dancers spin under starlit skies. The air carries the scent of home-style Rajasthani feasts, cooked with recipes passed down for generations. Artisans welcome you into their world with stories, smiles, and crafts that trace the desert’s soul.

By day, wander through lanes painted with fading frescoes. By night, sip a kulhad of masala chai or a glass of wine as melodies wrap themselves around you. Join in the dances & lose yourself in the foot-tapping beats.

Singing Sands is more than a festival—it’s a journey into heritage, a feeling you carry long after.

About the venue

Patronized by Royalty.
Built by Merchants.
In the universe of Rajasthan,
Shekhawati shines as a constellation,
and Mandawa becomes the stage for an intimate festival.

Shekhawati

Shekhawati isn’t just another region of Rajasthan. It’s a living museum where heritage peeks through every fresco-decked haveli. A haven for wealthy merchants, Shekhawati’s folk traditions were influenced by trade routes and royal patronage. With business booming, its people extended their enterprising nature towards literature, music and crafts. It is the origins of this ancient culture that we capture.

The Desert Resort, Mandawa

Set amid rolling sand dunes, The Desert Resort is a reimagining of a traditional Shekhawati village. Its mud-built cottages, hand-crafted details and mandana artwork by local women draw from the region’s living traditions, creating a place that feels rooted in its landscape rather than imposed upon it.

Spread across more than 100 acres, the resort offers a slower rhythm of desert life, with open skies, an oasis that attracts birdlife, and spaces to gather under the stars. It is a fitting home for the Singing Sands Festival, where the stillness of the desert gives way to music, cultural expression and the shared joy of discovering Rajasthan through its traditions.
