Tour Duration
2 Nights / 3 Days
Two days. One Fort. A Thousand Memories.
Over two unforgettable days in a 275-year-old fort, the Singing Sands Festival unfolds as a rare, unfiltered encounter with Rajasthani culture. Patronized by royalty and built by merchants, Dundlod in Shekhawati transforms into a living stage where history, music, and tradition come alive.
This is no ordinary festival—it’s an intimate retreat. Folk rhythms echo through frescoed courtyards. Dancers spin under starlit skies. The air carries the scent of home-style Rajasthani feasts, cooked with recipes passed down for generations. Artisans welcome you into their world with stories, smiles, and crafts that trace the desert’s soul.
By day, wander through lanes painted with fading frescoes. By night, sip a kulhad of masala chai or a glass of wine as melodies wrap themselves around you. Join in the dances, lose yourself in the foot-tapping beats, and greet the majestic Marwari horses that stand tall as symbols of Shekhawati’s legacy.
Singing Sands is more than a festival—it’s a journey into heritage, a feeling you carry long after you’ve left the fort’s gates.

About the venue
Patronized by Royalty.
Built by Merchants.
In the universe of Rajasthan,
Shekhawati shines as a constellation,
and Dundlod becomes the stage for an intimate festival.
Shekhawati
Shekhawati isn’t just another region of Rajasthan. It’s a living museum where heritage peeks through every fresco-decked haveli. A haven for wealthy merchants, Shekhawati’s folk traditions were influenced by trade routes and royal patronage. With business booming, its people extended their enterprising nature towards literature, music and crafts. It is the origins of this ancient culture that we capture.
Dundlod and Dundlod Fort
While the main venue is the Dundlod Fortress built in 1750, experiences spill into every street of Dundlod. A walk through its lanes unveils painted havelis that rival any art gallery. But unlike curated galleries, these aren’t preserved artifacts. They’re homes where families still live. The frescoes tell stories of Shekhawati prosperity and pride. The murals exhibit artistic finesse that remains unmatched six centuries later. There is culture in every corner of Singing Sands. You encounter it while sipping chai in courtyards. You discover it during heritage walks through painted alleyways. Children chase each other through the same lanes where their ancestors played.
